Greg Inglis leads indigenous war dance at NRL All Star match

Australia's national rugby league has grown a step closer to bringing back its pre-match war dance after captain Cameron Smith voiced his support for the 'lost' ritual's return. The Kangaroos have not performed the traditional dance since the 1967-68 tour of France, but Smith has revealed he hoped to reignite the topic on the eve of the All Stars clash in Brisbane.

A war dance goal celebration by Sydney captain Adam Goodes last year shocked many AFL supporters, but rugby league fans have embraced the notion of reintroducing the dance. Goodes was forced to stand down in round 18 last year after being incessantly booed by crowds following the controversial dance during the AFL Indigenous round. But the Greg Inglis-led Indigenous team's war dance conceived by the players that was unveiled last year was a standout of the 2015 NRL All Stars showcase. Smith missed a chance to discuss a Kangaroos pre-game ritual return with Inglis during this week's packed All Stars schedule.
